Reaves leads ASU In sweep of NAU

With a .542 hitting percentage and 16 kills, stepped up to lead the Sun Devil volleyball squad to a straight 3-0 sweep of the NAU Lumberjacks to wrap up the Hilton Phoenix/East Mesa Challenge on Sunday afternoon in Tempe. The Sun Devils took three 30-15, 30-25 and 30-20 and are now 2-4 as they head into the third week of the 2007 season.

Game one saw the Sun Devil offense split the work as Margie Giordano and Danielle Fernandes each had four kills apiece to lead ASU to a 30-15 win while Sydney Donahue hauled in seven digs en route to her match total of 20. Game two saw the Lumberjacks rally back, but the Sun Devils were able to pull it out as Sara Todorovich collected four kills and one block, taking ASU to a 30-25 win.

Game three saw Sarah Reaves control the game with her eight kills as Sara Todorovich and Marina Mercer held the line with two block assists apiece as the Sun Devils took the lead and never looked back, taking the final game 30-20.

Next up the Sun Devils hit the road next weekend as they head to the Utah Valley State Tournament in Orem, Utah where they will face San Jose State, Weber State and Utah Valley State next Friday and Saturday.
