Cochran named Pac-10 Player of the Week


<p>Arizona State senior outfielder <a href="http://thesundevils.cstv.com/sports/w-softbl/mtt/cochran_kaitlin00.html… Cochran</a> was named Pac-10 Player of the Week for Mar. 23-29, Commissioner Tom Hansen announced today.</p><separator></separator><p>Cochran led Arizona State to its first consecutive run-rule sweep in a Pac-10 weekend, batting a perfect 1.000 over three games to lead the sixth-ranked Sun Devils to wins over Oregon and Oregon State.  The Loma Linda, Calif., native went 5-for-5 at the plate, belting three home runs and one double.  Cochran drove in eight runs and compiled an extraordinary 3.000 slugging percentage.  In addition to her five at bats, the senior was walked seven times over the weekend.</p><separator></separator><p>Cochran currently leads all active Pac-10 players with 64 career home runs and ranks seventh in Pac-10 history.  This marks the fifth career honor for Cochran and the 59th overall for Arizona State.</p><separator></separator><p>Also Nominated:</p><separator></separator><p>Player: K’Lee Arredondo, Arizona; Audrey Roderfeld, Oregon State; Shannon Koplitz, Stanford; Amanda Kamekona, UCLA;  Ashley Charters, Washington.</p>
