ASU to host women's golf regional

Arizona State University will host the 2009 Women's Golf NCAA West Regional Championships at the ASU Karsten Golf Course, May 8-10, the NCAA Division I Women's Golf Committee announced.

In addition to ASU, the University of Florida will host the East regional at the University of Florida Golf Club and the Ohio State University will host the Central regional at the newly renovated Scarlet Course.

"We are excited with the selection of all three regional sites," said Nancy Cross, chair of the Division I Women's Golf Committee and Senior Woman Administrator at Purdue University. "Each of these universities and associated courses has a great history and strong reputation."

The ASU Karsten Golf Course last hosted the Women's Golf NCAA West Regional Championships in 2003.
