ASU divers head to Winter National Championships

Arizona State University diver Cameron Bradshaw will head to Iowa City, Iowa for the 2011 USA Diving Winter National Championships, which began Sunday, Jan. 30 to Sunday, Feb. 6.

Bradshaw will compete for the U.S. National Title on the 3-meter springboard. The 2011 Winter Nationals also serves as a chance to qualify for the 2012 U.S. Olympic Team Trials. At Nationals, he will perform six dives, with a degree of difficulty totaling 18.50.

ASU divers Riley McCormick and Hailey Casper will also be competing to represent their home country of Canada from Feb. 3 to Feb. 6 at the 2011 Winter Senior National Championships in London, Ontario.

McCormick won gold on the 10-meter platform in 2009 and 2010 at the Winter Senior National Championships and will be competing for a third gold medal in the event for 2011. He will also be competing on the 3-meter springboard. McCormick has already been selected to compete on Canada's National Senior Team for the 2012 Olympics.

Casper will be competing on the 3-meter springboard in the Winter National Championships and she has already been selected for the Canadian National Junior Team.

The ASU divers follow in diving coach Mark Bradshaw's footsteps as he placed fifth in the 1988 Olympics on the 3-meter board.
