ASU Athletes of the Week


<p>Women's tennis player <a href="http://thesundevils.cstv.com/sports/w-tennis/mtt/mckenna_kelcy00.html">… McKenna</a> has been named ASU's Athlete of the Week ending September 25h. She won the ITA Gold Singles championship title, and also reached the final round in the doubles team match. McKenna proved to be resilient, rallying from behind to win the singles championship in the tournament 6-4,6-1. In her 27th year of coaching the women's tennis program, Coach <a href="http://thesundevils.cstv.com/sports/w-tennis/mtt/mcinerney_sheila00.htm… McInerney</a> said, "It was a great way to end the invitational. I'm so proud of Kelcy for making this happen."</p><separator></separator><p>The women head to Los Angeles, California for the All American Championship 10/4/2010.</p><separator></separator><p>Football player <a href="http://thesundevils.cstv.com/sports/m-footbl/mtt/lewis_deantre00.html">… Lewis</a> has been named ASU's Male Athlete of the Week ending September 25th. Freshman running back <a href="http://thesundevils.cstv.com/sports/m-footbl/mtt/lewis_deantre00.html">… Lewis</a> seems to be promising, after posting 127 yards on 11 carries and a touchdown. Additionally, <a href="http://thesundevils.cstv.com/sports/m-footbl/mtt/lewis_deantre00.html">… Lewis</a> and <a href="http://thesundevils.cstv.com/sports/m-footbl/mtt/burfict_vontaze00.html… Burfict</a> both received College Football Performance Awards Football Bowl Subdivision Honorable Mention for week four of the season.</p><separator></separator><p>In their next contest Arizona State football faces the Oregon States Beavers at 3:30 p.m. PT.</p><separator></separator><!-- STORY AD BEGINS HERE --> <!-- STORY AD BEGINS HERE --></p>
