Alumni Association hosts membership night at networking event
<p>It’s a cliché to state that membership has its privileges, but sometimes it really does. The ASU Alumni Association will provide its members with complimentary admission to its next monthly Maroon and Gold Professional Network mixer, slated for 5:30 to 7 p.m., Tuesday, June 16, at the University Club, 425 E. University Drive, on ASU’s Tempe campus.</p><separator></separator><p>The complimentary admission to the event, which normally costs members $10 to attend, is a powerful way to say thank you to dues-paying members, says Jenny Holsman, executive director of operations for the Alumni Association.</p><separator></separator><p>“We’ve hosted a number of these events in this past year,” she said. “Not only do they provide a ‘dividend’ of gratitude to our members, they also help members meet each other in the context of fun, Sun Devil-centric events, such as plays, softball games, and career mixers.”</p><separator></separator><p>The Maroon and Gold Professional Network meeting that is the setting for the upcoming appreciation event has seen a very successful first year. Designed to be a place where ASU graduates and supporters can connect and build business relationships, the network regularly sees attendance of 60 to 80 or more per meeting and rotates among a number of enjoyable Tempe restaurant settings.</p><separator></separator><p>“We’ve been amazed with the response to our mixers,” said Alissa Pierson, the association’s associate executive director for programs. “We’ve attracted folks from all walks of life and a broad range of ages, and they have had a great time getting to know each other and sharing Sun Devil spirit.”</p><separator></separator><p>To register for the June 16 Maroon and Gold Professional Network meeting, visit <a href="http://www.asu.edu/alumni/maroon+gold/maroon_gold.html">www.asu.edu/alu…;.
