The executive MBA in Shanghai from Arizona State University’s W. P. Carey School of Business earned a top spot among international universities in one of the most highly regarded international business newspapers. The Financial Times, Britain’s equivalent of the Wall Street Journal, just released its new rankings of EMBA programs, with the W. P. Carey School program ranked No. 12 in the world.

Carey remains a destination of choice for students from around the world who are seeking top-notch academic programs and a community of leading scholars.”
The No. 12 ranking of the Shanghai program marks a climb of 13 positions on the Financial Times 2019 global rankings over last year’s list. Some of the highest-ranking business and government leaders in China are students and alumni of the program.
“Our students are senior executive leaders running businesses and government officials in charge of policymaking that can influence millions of people,” said Professor Wei Shen, associate dean of China Programs at the W. P. Carey School of Business. “Our alums are among the drivers leading transformation of the Chinese economy.”
Current students and alumni represent Shanghai, Beijing, Guangdong, Zhejiang, Jiangsu, Sichuan, Hong Kong, Taiwan and Singapore. A majority hold high-level management positions in financial institutions, large state-owned enterprises and government agencies. Students in the W. P. Carey School program in Shanghai have included three vice governors of China’s major provinces, six vice mayors of Shanghai and six mayors of other cities in China.
As part of the EMBA program, the students experience high-level visits to some of the biggest companies in the world. They are also taught by some of the top faculty members from both Arizona State University and other prominent universities. Since the program’s inception in 2003, five Nobel laureate winners have addressed the group.
The W. P. Carey School is ranked highly for its Arizona-based executive MBA program, as well, currently No. 12 in the world according to the Economist. Meanwhile, the school’s online, part-time and full-time MBA programs are all ranked among the best programs in the country by U.S. News & World Report.
