The Arizona State University and Tempe Police Departments are partnering with ASU Fraternity and Sorority Life, the FBI, Maricopa County Sheriff's Office and Tempe Police Foundation for the third annual Kids+Cops Holiday Shop event on Dec. 16, and organizers are asking for donations from the community to help make it happen.

The event provides local children in need with a holiday experience and strengthens relationships between police officers and community members.

The children are escorted in police vehicles to a Tempe-area Walmart. Each child then teams up with an ASU or Tempe officer for a $150 shopping spree.

Additional activities for the children include face painting, a hot breakfast and an opportunity to meet Santa and ASU K9 Officer Tillman.

To donate to the event, visit the ASU Foundation webpage.

Email ASU Police Information Officer Katy Harris with questions or call 480-965-0421.
