Registration open for ASU summer engineering program

Students participate in the ASU National Summer Transportation Institute.

Registration is open for ASU’s National Summer Transportation Institute, a free program for qualifying Arizona high school students coordinated by the Ira A. Fulton Schools of Engineering. The program is geared toward students considering a future in any type of engineering — from aerospace to software.

Students who enroll in the summer institute will spend one week living at the ASU Polytechnic campus, tour locations and traffic systems not normally accessible to the general public, meet with professional engineers from around the state, engage in engineering lab activities to better understand engineering within the transportation industry, and more.

Four one-week sessions are offered this year, and sessions begin on June 18, June 25, July 9 and July 16. Students who enroll must be Arizona residents and must be sophomores with a 2.5 GPA, juniors with a 2.75 GPA or seniors with a 3.0 GPA. The program is funded by the U.S. Department of Transportation, Federal Highway Administration, Office of Civil Rights and the Arizona Department of Transportation. While there is no registration deadline, registration will close when the four sessions are full.
