Margaret Schmidt

Margaret Schmidt, assistant professor of music education in the School of Music, presented at the national meeting of the American String Teachers Association in spring 2014.

The presentation, entitled “"Retaining and Motivating Diverse Students in String Ensembles: What Students Tell Us,”" focused on Schmidt’'s fieldwork with a university mariachi ensemble, whose members explained why they and their friends either chose to remain in or drop orchestra.
