ASU selected as American Association for Physician Leadership advanced degree partner

The American Association for Physician Leadership has added Arizona State University (ASU) as its fifth partner to help physician leaders gain advanced knowledge and credentials. ASU’s School for the Science of Health Care Delivery will offer a master’s degree in the Science of Health Care Delivery (SHCD) through its Phoenix campus.

ASU joins the University of Massachusetts-Amherst, Carnegie Mellon University, University of Southern California and Thomas Jefferson University, giving physician leaders a wide range of options when seeking a master’s degree program.

“We’re pleased to announce this new university partner,” said Peter Angood, MD, FRCS(C), FACS, MCCM, president and CEO of the association. “ASU’s outstanding program will complement our existing partners’ master’s degree programs and open new options and choices for our physician leadership community.”

The ASU program’s flexible, interactive online format is designed to be adaptable for busy health care professionals, focusing on issues critical to health care delivery in a changing environment. Participants earn Lean Six Sigma green belt certification, with the option of seeking black belt certification. As with the other partners, prerequisites can be completed through association courses, live or online. The ASU program has rolling admissions and features five entry points during the year. The 30-credit all-online, asynchronous program culminates with a capstone project.
