ASU Art Museum’s Award-winning Store Seeks Volunteer Staff

TEMPE, Ariz. – Join the Arizona State University Art Museum’s dynamic volunteer group! The museum is seeking docent volunteers to staff its award-winning store.

The ASU Art Museum Store, an international market place carrying art, crafts, jewelry and apparel from around the world, has repeatedly won awards such as the New Times Best of Phoenix award for “Best Museum Store”, and The Rep’s award for “Best Ethnic Store.” This fascinating treasure trove is a great place to volunteer. No experience in retail or background in art is necessary. Only enthusiasm is required.

The docents at the ASU Art Museum play vital roles in the operation of the museum, especially contact with the public. The volunteer program at the museum is small, friendly and informal. The museum offers weekly training sessions for docents that incorporate art appreciation classes, as well as opportunities to work with artists, scholars and museum staff.

For more information on becoming a store docent at the ASU Art Museum, call the museum at (480) 965-2787.

The ASU Art Museum is a division of The Katherine K. Herberger College of Fine Arts at Arizona State University.
