ASU Parking and Transit Services invites campus departments, clubs and organizations to apply for the 2016–2017 PTS Benefactor Program. The selected recipient receives the proceeds from two auctioned parking spaces plus all monies collected from two centrally located meters on the Tempe campus for one full fiscal year (July 1, 2016-June 30, 2017).
“We are excited to bring the Benefactor Program back for a fourth year,” said PTS director Melinda Alonzo. “It is a privilege for PTS to give back to the university community in a way that empowers the growth of an outstanding campus organization.”
Since its inaugural year in 2012, more than $18,000 has been donated to previous Benefactor Program recipients. Past beneficiaries include Arizona State University’s American Dream Academy, Student Health Outreach for Wellness (SHOW) and the ASU School of Art.
“It was very meaningful for us to receive public acknowledgement by an ASU entity for the work that we do,” said American Dream Academy founder and director Alejandro Perilla. “It was also significant because our entire team felt responsible for earning the award and felt extremely proud to see the American Dream Academy [parking meter] sign on display.”
The deadline to submit an application for the 2016-2017 PTS Benefactor Program is Friday, April 15. Any ASU organization that improves the lives of students and contributes to the university’s overall advancement is eligible to apply.
