Arizona State University has officially launched Health@ASU. The new website highlights the depth and breadth of health activity at ASU and is the first “one-stop online shop” for university health-related news and information.

The Health Futures Council at ASU, ambassadors, supporters and advisers for the university’s research and education programs in the health space, were recruited to construct Health@ASU. The project was spearheaded by Chief Technology Innovation Officer Chuck Kazilek in the Office of the Provost, who was tasked with developing a series of ASU “@ sites” including science, health, global, military, and ethics. (Additional @ sites are under discussion or development.)

Health@ASU is managed by Angel Brandwein, assistant director of the Health Futures Council with the support of Peggy Coulombe, director of executive communication for the Office of the Provost, and contributions from marketing and communications teams across the university.

“We are so excited that there is now a place to go online to see the myriad, diverse and truly exciting things Arizona State University is doing in health,” Brandwein said. “Previously, unless you knew exactly what to search for, you couldn’t find it.

“Now you can log on, browse, enter search terms, drill deeper for very specific information, and be amazed at how ASU is taking a leadership role in transforming health and disrupting the future of health care for the betterment of local communities, the nation, and the world. It’s actually quite breathtaking and such a pleasure to share on this broad scale.”

Each landing page on the site features roughly 200 words in accessible language for a broad audience. Like the other @ sites, pages serve as portals linking readers to deeper content on ASU unit pages. A live news feed focusing on ASU health headlines is included on the home page, linking readers to ASU News as well as Health Futures Council social media.

The site drop-down menus reflect the “big buckets” that make sense from a macro view of health and health care, as well as highlighting areas of ASU strength. While individual pages are designed to be as evergreen as possible, the Health Futures Council team continues to curate news and partner with marketing and communications staff to add content.

Users are encouraged to log on and explore Health@ASU and to link to it from their websites. If you have news or content to contribute, please contact the Health Futures Council at HFC@ASU.edu.

The Health Futures Council at ASU is headed by Director Mitzi Krockover and overseen by Wellington "Duke" Reiter, senior advisor to President Michael Crow, and Janet Holston, director of Special Initiatives.
