ASU football players embrace the teachings of MLK
Arizona State University football players were invited to hear from community, business, nonprofit and faith-based leaders at an event that commemorated the life and legacy of Martin Luther King Jr.Sheila McInerney has been a mentor and a mother figure to the players on the women's tennis team for four decades. It's a monumental season for the coach, who also celebrates her 66th birthday in February. “I think what sets Sheila apart is that she really cares about her players,” former player Krista Walker says.
ASU School of Art instructor Miguel Godoy is the designer of a new Phoenix Suns jersey that has popped up on the courts this season — an El Valle design that pays tribute to Chicano culture.

Sports law and business grad builds relationships through ASU Law program

Courtney Robinson’s passion for sports began as a child growing up in a family where athletics were often the center of conversation. She carried that love of sports through her time at Arizona State University, where she’s graduating with a master's degree in sports journalism at the Walter Cronkite School of Journalism and Mass Communication while serving as an in-game host for ASU Athletics events.
History grad ‘tumbles’ her way into a future in athletics
Sydney Tepper, a New American University Scholarship recipient, is graduating three semesters early, saying she learned to advocate for herself early on in her academic journey. That self-advocacy and self-awareness, along with her humanities degree, opened up a new pathway she didn’t realize could be a viable career for her: athletics.
Grad turns passion for video games, music into career
Evan Koutsogiannis’ passion for music and video games started at a young age. Now, he will receive a Bachelor of Arts in media arts and sciences with a focus in music from the School of Arts, Media and Engineering and a minor in Mandarin Chinese this fall.
