The weather was cool but the pitching and bats were hot as the Sun Devil softball team had a perfect 7-0 weekend during the Kajikawa Classic. Dallas Escobedo was 4-0 with a 0.28 ERA in 24.2 innings pitched.

Catcher Lucy Aubrecht watches her hit sail into the outfield.

The team prepares to welcome another Sun Devil player scoring a run.

Alix Johnson connects for a solo "homer." The Sun Devils are set to host the Littlewood Classic on Feb. 15, with a double header against Northern Iowa and Michigan State.

Evan Gordon (10), who led all scorers in the game with 23 points, drives into the paint defended by California's Brandon Smith (12) as the Sun Devils defeated the Bears, 66-62, on Feb. 7.

Jahii Carson (1) starts a drive defended by Cal guard Brandon Smith (12).

With Cal trying to tighten the game to a single digit difference in the closing seconds of the first half, Ruslan Pateev (23) blocked Justin Cobb's (1) shot. Pateev collected 8 rebounds and scored a career high tying 12 points.

Jonathan Gilling (31) is fouled by Cal guard Brandon Smith (12) with 4.5 seconds remaining in the contest. Gilling was able to hit one of two free throws, padding the ASU lead to 4 and virtually assuring the victory.

Stanford came to town on Feb. 9 and came away with a 62-59 win. Chris Colvin (2) goes over Stanford's Chasson Randale (5) on his way to the basket.

Jahii Carson (1) flicks the ball away from Stanford's Aaron Bright (2), resulting in a Stanford turnover.

Bo Barnes had a three point shot attempt with five seconds remaining that would have tied the game at 62 if it had dropped. The Sun Devils meet the Utes in Salt Lake City, Feb. 13.

At the 2013 annual Alumni Game, current head coach Tim Esmay talks with former ASU coach and college baseball Hall of Famer Bobby Winkles. Winkles, the first varsity baseball coach at ASU, coached Arizona State from 1959-1971, leading the Sun Devils to its first three national titles (1965, 1967 and 1969) and laying the foundation that has become Sun Devil baseball.

Current assistant coach and former ASU player Mike Benjamin (right) talks with fellow Devil and Major Leaguer Ken Landreaux.

Senior catcher Max Rossiter pays close attention as Paul Lo Duce, the former Sun Devil catcher, ASU Hall of Famer and Major League Baseball All-Star, gives some advice.

Former Sun Devil Andrew Aplin makes his way to third during the alumni game. The current players beat the former players 21-2. The Sun Devils open regular season play against Bethune Cookman at 6 p.m., Feb. 15.
