As students start a fresh semester on their academic journeys this fall, they have a slew of new topics to choose from for their studies.
Arizona State University’s largest college — The College of Liberal Arts and Sciences — has expanded its robust list of studies by adding 15 new degrees that help meet growing workforce demands.
For example, a Bachelor of Arts in global citizenship allows students to turn their interests in languages, cultures and global issues into a career. The new program, which is offered on the Tempe campus and online, explores what it takes to lead a globally connected workforce and how language shapes culture and identity.
In line with ASU’s efforts to address gaps in Arizona's health care coverage, a new master’s degree concentration in health communication will provide students with the necessary tools to communicate more effectively, and will teach skills in health advocacy and doctor-patient communications.

The Walter Cronkite School of Journalism and Mass Communication has launched the largest collection of new degree paths since its founding in 1984 to prepare students for the evolving profession of journalism.
Degrees in science communication and strategic communication are just two of the new focuses to join the undergraduate lineup while new graduate degrees include media research and technology, as well as a strategic communication focus in health.
This year, the Sandra Day O’Connor College of Law celebrates 20 years of its Master of Legal Studies, or MLS, program with the launch of a specialized master's degree for health care professionals.
The new Master of Legal Studies in health care compliance and administration, or MLS Health, is designed to prepare professionals to navigate complex health care regulations and lead within highly regulated environments, and will be offered online.
ASU’s new offerings extend beyond Arizona as well. The GAME School at Arizona State University has launched its new Bachelor of Science in game studio production at the ASU California Center downtown Los Angeles.
The degree prepares graduates to lead creative teams in launching successful games and studios, combining hands-on experience with real-world industry connections and insight.
The expansion to LA is a natural one, as students have the benefit of being in proximity to more than 200 game companies that are based in the area. Students will get to connect with past and present representatives, creators and producers from companies big and small.
