Women's golf earns 20th-consecutive NCAA Championship bid


<p>The 10th-ranked Arizona State women’s golf team earned its 20th-consecutive NCAA Championship bid Saturday as the Sun Devils finished third overall at the NCAA East Regional in Daytona Beach, Fla. ASU shot 7-over for the tournament (295-288-288-871), shooting back-to-back even par rounds to close out the competition.</p><separator></separator><p class="MsoNormal">Freshman <a href="http://thesundevils.cstv.com/sports/w-golf/mtt/ordonez_daniela00.html">… Ordonez</a> finished in a career-best tie for third individually. Carding five birdies on the day, the Colombian fired back-to-back career-low rounds of 70 to finish the tournament at even par.</p><separator></separator><p class="MsoNormal">In a model of consistency, juniors <a href="http://thesundevils.cstv.com/sports/w-golf/mtt/ciganda_carlota00.html">… Ciganda</a>, <a href="http://thesundevils.cstv.com/sports/w-golf/mtt/molinaro_giulia00.html">… Molinaro</a> and freshman <a href="http://thesundevils.cstv.com/sports/w-golf/mtt/lee_justine00.html">Just… Lee</a> all finished the competition at 4-over to tie for 20th with a three round total of 220. Molinaro shot the low-round of the day out of the group with a 1-under 71 to finish up the tournament.</p><separator></separator><p class="MsoNormal">Joining Arizona State out of the NCAA East Regional will be: Alabama, North Carolina, Coastal Carolina, Purdue, Florida and Vanderbilt. The 2011 NCAA women’s golf Championship, hosted by Texas A&amp;M, will be held in Bryan, Texas, May 17-20.</p>
