West campus to host chamber auction and dinner Oct. 2

Arizona State University’s West campus will host the Glendale Chamber of Commerce 16th annual auction and “Keys to Success” dinner, scheduled for 6 p.m. on Oct. 2. The revamped event will be held in La Sala in the University Center Building (UCB).<separator></separator>“This is another wonderful opportunity to reach out to our constituency and support the efforts of our local civic organizations,” says Elizabeth Langland, ASU vice president and dean of the New College of Interdisciplinary Arts and Sciences, who also serves on the chamber board of directors. “We have worked with the Glendale Chamber on a number of projects throughout the years, and this is another way we can work together and partner on a meaningful event.”<separator></separator>The dinner and auction will feature special buffet stations, an open bar and entertainment provided by the Glendale Community College Jazz Trio, followed by silent and live auctions.<separator></separator>“The chamber and the business community are always looking for opportunities to partner with the university,” says Don Rinehart, president and CEO of the chamber. “The West campus has great facilities, and we know our guests will have a great time. ... Through this event, we can provide more exposure for the West campus to the West Valley community.”<separator></separator>The auction and dinner represent the chamber’s largest annual fundraising effort. Included on the auction block will be sports memorabilia and event tickets, jewelry and furniture from local companies, vacation packages and more. In addition, the chamber will recognize past chamber board directors and civic and business leaders.<separator></separator>Rinehart notes that the event is an important lifeline to the chamber’s many programs and services.<separator></separator>“As a nonprofit, support for this event allows the chamber to continue to be a strong legislative voice for business,” he says. “We are a provider of significant member benefit programs and a partner in economic development and tourism with the city of Glendale, and we rely on fundraising events like this to meet our program and service budgets.”<separator></separator>Reservations are only $45 per person ($450 for a table of 10) and can be made online at <a href="http://www.glendaleazchamber.org/">www.glendaleazchamber.org</a> or by calling the chamber at (623) 937-4754.<separator></separator>ASU’s West campus is located at 4701 W.
