James Garcia (right) and Julie Amparano chat with Andrew Valenzuela prior to the premier performance of a one-act play, “A Boy Named Cesar" at ASU’s West Campus. The play celebrates Hispanic Heritage Month and focuses on labor leader Cesar Chavez, as a 10-year-old boy in Yuma, Ariz., who would grow up to become one of the nation’s great civil rights leaders. The play was written by faculty members Garcia and Amparano and Valenzuela is one of the performers in the production.
