Week in Review: Jan. 23-29
Salt River Project, which manages the river and lake system that supplies much of the water for the Phoenix area, released water from the Salt and Verde Rivers to make room for runoff from the January storms. At Tempe Town Lake the eastern inflatable dam was deflated, allowing the Salt River to flow through the Phoenix metro area.

The most unique planting of palms on the ASU Tempe campus is the double row of Mexican fan palms along Palm Walk. The section of palms that run from University Blvd. to the Life Sciences building complex was planted in 1916. The section from the Life Sciences building complex running south to the Student Recreation Complex were planted later, in 1937 and 1939.
Melanie Taylor uses one of the glass cubes in the Interdisciplinary Science and Technology II building as a quiet place to study. The building supports research in areas such as transportation planning, fluid dynamics and sustainable materials and serves as a Sustainability Point of Pride for ASU.
A panel of former U.S. attorneys discussed the role of a prosecutor and maintaining an ethical compass during an event at the Sandra Day O’Conner College of Law. The five participants were part of a group that were told to resign from their positions during the Bush administration. Carol Lam (far left) began the presentation.
