Water polo falls to Hawaii


<p>The ninth-ranked women's water polo team lost 7-4 to No. 4 Hawai'i in the semifinals of the consolation bracket May 1 at the MPSF Championships in Los Angeles. Senior center <a href="http://thesundevils.cstv.com/sports/w-wpolo/mtt/phelps_kelly00.html">Ke… Phelps</a> led the charge for the Sun Devils (16-14, 0-7) with two goals.</p><separator></separator><p>The Sun Devils came out firing for the second game in a row as Phelps gave ASU the early 1-0 lead with an exclusion goal at the 5:35 mark in the first quarter. After Hawai'i knotted the match at one goal apiece, sophomore attacker <a href="http://thesundevils.cstv.com/sports/w-wpolo/mtt/white_kelsey00.html">Ke… White</a> found the back of the net with just over a minute to play in the frame.</p><separator></separator><p>Freshman center <a href="http://thesundevils.cstv.com/sports/w-wpolo/mtt/haas_shannon00.html">Sh… Haas</a> scored the only goal of the second quarter and sophomore goalie <a href="http://thesundevils.cstv.com/sports/w-wpolo/mtt/harvey_dana00.html">Dana Harvey</a> collected four saves in the frame as the Sun Devils took a 3-2 lead into halftime.</p><separator></separator><p>Following a trio of Hawai'i goals in the third stanza, Phelps added her second goal of the match with 7:25 left in the game to cut the deficit to one.
