Wallace captures two gold medals with team USA


<span><p align="justify"><a href="http://thesundevils.cstv.com/sports/c-track/mtt/wallace_latosha00.html"… Wallace</a>, a former member of the Arizona State University track and field program, recently competed in the North America, Central American and Caribbean Athletic Association (NACAC) Championships in San Salvador, El Salvador, over the weekend and will return with a pair of gold medals after running for Team USA.</p><separator></separator><p align="justify">Wallace, who recently completed her second and final year with the Sun Devils by helping the program to a pair of national titles (NCAA Indoor and NCAA Outdoor team championships), competed in her top event, the 400m hurdles, while also running on the 4x400m relay. In the hurdles, Wallace won the race in 56.54, which was just off her personal best time of 56.35. Wallace then ran the lead leg of the victorious 4x400m relay team that won gold in 3:29.15.</p><separator></separator><p align="justify">During her senior season, Wallace put together a solid outdoor campaign that concluded with two All-America honors. In the hurdles, she placed fourth in the nation after taking second in the Pac-10. Wallace also ran at the 2007 USA Track &amp; Field Championships where she finished sixth overall. The 400m dash champion at the Pac-10 meet, Wallace also was an All-American in the 4x400m relay after the team placed eighth at the NCAA Championships following a win at the Pac-10 meet.</p><separator></separator><p align="justify">Wallace&#39;s gold medals marks the third time in four years that a Sun Devil has competed in the international event and returned home with a gold medal. Last year, <a href="http://thesundevils.cstv.com/sports/c-track/mtt/aguayo_aaron00.html">Aa… Aguayo</a> won the men&#39;s 5,000m title at the meet in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic. After not having a representative at the 2005 meet, two Sun Devils won gold at the 2004 meet in Sherbrooke, Canada, as <a href="http://thesundevils.cstv.com/sports/c-track/mtt/reed_cassandra00.html">… Reed</a> won the women&#39;s 400m dash and <a href="http://thesundevils.cstv.com/sports/c-track/mtt/johnson_jacquelyn00.htm… Johnson</a> captured the heptathlon title.</p><separator></separator><p align="justify">The NACAC meet features athletes from 32 nations in North America, Central America and the Caribbean, including the USA, Canada, Mexico, Jamaica and Cuba, to name a few.</p><separator></separator><!-- STORY AD BEGINS HERE --> </span></p>
