W. P. Carey School expands degree offerings at West campus
In an effort to bring top quality business education to more people in the Phoenix area, the nationally ranked W. P. Carey School of Business is expanding several of its popular degree programs to Arizona State University’s West campus. The new programs will be showcased at an open house Feb. 3. Among them is the school’s prestigious evening MBA program, ranked among the top 25 part-time MBA programs in the nation by U.S. News & World Report.
“We want to make it convenient for working professionals to get a quality MBA with a flexible program schedule,” said Beth Walker, associate dean for the W. P. Carey MBA. “We’re adding this new evening program location to make sure that people who work or live in the West Valley can fit our nationally recognized MBA program into their schedules. We look forward to working with West Valley business leaders to educate their best employees.”
The 21-month evening MBA program features a high-caliber core business curriculum, with the ability to specialize in several areas of emphasis, including finance, entrepreneurship, health care management, international business, marketing, supply chain management and leadership. Students meet just two nights per week, accommodating their busy work and home lives. The evening program is currently offered at ASU’s Downtown Phoenix and Tempe campuses, as well as locations in Scottsdale and the south Tempe/Chandler area.
Several W. P. Carey School of Business undergraduate degrees are also being expanded to the West campus. Bachelor of Science degrees in accountancy and management were introduced to the campus this past fall and will continue to be available. Also, starting this fall, West campus students will be able to take part in two extremely popular Bachelor of Arts in Business programs with concentrations in sustainability or communication. All of these undergraduate programs are open to both freshmen and transfer students.
“We want to meet the needs of businesses, the community and the local economy through these new offerings,” said W. P. Carey School of Business Dean Robert Mittelstaedt. “These are the types of degrees that are desirable now and will continue to be needed as companies work to grow and become more sustainable.”
All of these degrees will be showcased at an open house for prospective students, business leaders and the rest of the community at ASU’s West campus Feb. 3 from 5:30 to 7 p.m. The event will be held in the La Sala Ballroom at 4701 W. Thunderbird Road.
