Visiting Professor to Discuss How Physical Activity Impacts Cancer


<p>MESA, Ariz. — Dr. Kerry Courneya, one of Canada’s leading scientists in behavioral medicine, will speak at a Research Colloquium from 3:45 to 5 p.m., March 30, in the Student Union Ballroom B at Arizona State University’s Polytechnic campus.</p><separator></separator><p>Courneya, professor of behavioral medicine at the University of Alberta and a Canada Research Chair in Physical Activity and Cancer, has devoted his career delving into the questions of whether and how physical activity can impact cancer -- both as an intervention in the prevention of the disease and post- diagnosis as an adjuvant to other therapy. Courneya will discuss the outcomes of recently completed trials of exercise and cancer treatment.</p><separator></separator><p>The lecture is free and open to the public and is sponsored by the ASU Department of Exercise and Wellness at the Polytechnic campus.
