University Public Schools now enrolling students in K-9

March 25, 2011

University Public Schools Inc. (UPSI), in collaboration with Arizona State University, is now enrolling students for grades K-9 at its two ASU Preparatory Academy campuses.

ASU Preparatory Academy is an innovative, free, public charter school open to all students living in the greater Phoenix metropolitan area with two locations: downtown Phoenix and the East Valley. The academy provides the instruction and support to help every child achieve the dream of a college degree. In collaboration with ASU, as well as Phoenix Elementary, the academy ensures students and families receive a university embedded experience.

To learn more about the new schools, which will offer a challenging educational program in a safe and supportive setting, families are encouraged to attend one of the information sessions.

Information Sessions:

6 p.m., March 29, ASU Preparatory Academy Phoenix Campus, located at 735 E. Fillmore Street (on the corner of 7th Street and Fillmore). This is a high school information session for eighth-graders and their families.

6 p.m., March 31, ASU Preparatory Academy Polytechnic Middle School, located at 6110 S. Sagewood in Mesa, near ASU’s Polytechnic campus. This also is a high school information session for eighth-graders and their families.

UPSI currently operates two charter schools. More than 325 students are enrolled at the Polytechnic Elementary School near and on the ASU Polytechnic campus in Mesa. ASU Preparatory Academy-Phoenix opened in August 2009 and currently serves approximately 480 students in grades K-8.

Both campuses will launch 9th grade in fall 2011 with an expansion to grades 10-12 over the next three years.
