Three women's golfer earn All-Pac-12 Honors

Three Sun Devils were named to the 2012 Pac-12 Women’s Golf All-Conference teams, Commissioner Larry Scott announced today.

Senior Giulia Molinaro earned first team All-Pac-12 honors for her break out senior campaign. Ranked third in the nation, according to Golfstat, Molinaro has recorded seven top-10 finishes on the season and has never finished outside the top 15.

The senior was named the first-ever Pac-12 Golfer of the Month in September for her second-career victory at the Dale McNamara Invitational. Molinaro secured her first-team honor last weekend, tying for second place at the 2012 Pac-12 Championships in Pullman, Wash., just one stroke off first place. Last season, Molinaro earned second-team All-Pac-12 honors.

Sophomores Justine Lee and Daniela Ordonez each earned All-Pac-12 honorable mention honors for their play this season. Lee recorded three top-10 finishes this season including starting the season with back-to-back top-10 finishes at the Dale McNamara Invitational and the Mason Rudolph Fall Preview. Recently, Lee shot a career-low 67 in the opening round of the PING/ASU Invitational en route to a tie for 11th at the Sun Devils’ home tournament. Ordonez shined last weekend at the Pac-12 Championships finishing in a tie for fifth place after recording a 69 in the final round of competition. Ordonez holds a 74.77 scoring average and has recorded two top-10 finishes this season.

The Sun Devils next compete in the NCAA East Regional at the Penn State Blue Course, May 10-12, in State College, Pa. Arizona State is looking for a nation-leading 21st-consecutive bid to the NCAA Championships in Franklin, Tenn.
