Tempe campus emergency exercise Friday morning

The ASU Tempe campus near the Biodesign Institute and Psychology buildings will be the site of a planned emergency response exercise from 6 to 10 a.m., June 28.

McAllister Avenue between Tyler and Terrace streets will be closed during the morning of June 28 for the exercise. The closure will be in effect during the approximate hours of 6 to 10 a.m. Signs will be posted in the area of the exercise to inform the public that emergency vehicles are in the area.

An ASU Advisory message will be sent before the exercise to inform the Tempe campus that the drill is taking place. Crisis scenario drills such as these help ensure that first responders are able to respond to a variety of scenarios that they may encounter in the course of their work.

Drivers requiring access to Biodesign’s loading dock or the LDS Parking Structure will be required to inform police officers of their intended destinations before proceeding during this time. Access to the Tyler Street Parking Structure will be open from McAllister Avenue (north of Tyler Street), and the Rural Road Parking Structure will not be affected.
