Symposium highlights transport sustainability best practices


<p>In promoting best practices in all areas of sustainability – with a view to help advance sustainable transportation practices in rapidly developing countries of the world that are facing great challenges – ASU is conducting the first International Symposium on Advances in Transport Sustainability (ISATS2010) Nov. 17-19.&nbsp; <br /><br />Symposium sessions will take place at the Memorial Union on the Tempe campus, with a keynote speech by Victor M. Mendez, federal highway administrator and ASU alumnus. Mendez, a 1994 MBA graduate, was the former director of the Arizona Department of Transportation (ADOT) and has more than 20 years of State DOT experience. <br /><br />Mendez’s speech will take place from 9 a.m. to 10 a.m., Nov. 19, in the Turquoise Ballroom of the Memorial Union, and is open to the public. <br /><br />In addition, the organizers are also making other keynote sessions of the symposium open and free to the public.
