Swimming falls at USC opener


<p><a href="/sports/c-swim/stats/2010-2011/usc-asu.html"><span style="color: #444444;">Final Stats</span></a></p><separator></separator><p><!-- LINKS TO RELATED PAGES END -->The Arizona State women’s and men’s swimming and diving teams fell to USC in the second leg of their Los Angeles trip. The men fell 107-186, while the women were defeated 121-172.</p><separator></separator><p class="MsoNormal">In a bright note for the women, Pac-10 Champion junior <a href="/sports/c-swim/mtt/ejdervik_rebecca00.html"><span style="color: #444444;">Rebecca Ejdervik</span></a> out swam USC’s Jessica Schmidtt to win the 100-yard breaststroke with a time of 1:02.99. <span>&nbsp;</span>Junior <a href="/sports/c-swim/mtt/green_jordyn00.html"><span style="color: #444444;">Jordyn Green</span></a> won the 200-yard breaststroke, touching in at 2:14.73. Penelope Yamauchi won the 200 yard IM with a time of 2:03.04.</p><separator></separator><p class="MsoNormal">In women’s three meter diving, freshman <a href="/sports/c-swim/mtt/casper_hailey00.html"><span style="color: #444444;">Hailey Casper</span></a> topped Tori Ishimatsu of Southern Cal with a score of 329.25 take to home first place.&nbsp;</p><separator></separator><p class="MsoNormal">For the men, junior <a href="/sports/c-swim/mtt/yamashita_yutaro00.html"><span style="color: #444444;">Yutaro Yamashita</span></a> won the 100-yard butterfly, clocking in at 52.06. In men’s diving, USC won both the one and three meter dives, with ASU’s <a href="/sports/c-swim/mtt/mccormick_riley00.html"><span style="color: #444444;">Riley McCormick</span></a> coming in second in the three meter with a score of 388.43. <a href="/sports/c-swim/mtt/bradshaw_cameron00.html"><span style="color: #444444;">Cameron Bradshaw</span></a> took third in the one meter, scoring 344.40.</p><separator></separator><p class="MsoNormal">Next up, the swim team competes in the Toshiba Classic in Long Beach, Calif., while the diving team travels to Tucson to compete in the Wildcat Invite during the weekend of Nov. 19-21.</p>
