Sun Devil Athletics launch 'Black Out the Duck' campaign for Oregon game

Sun Devil Athletics, in advance of the football team's showdown with No. 2 Oregon on Oct. 18 at Sun Devil Stadium, has created a marketing campaign aimed at "Blacking Out The Duck" in order to build excitement for the Thursday night game on ESPN at 6 p.m.

The Oregon Duck announced his candidacy for President of the United States on Sept. 5, and Arizona State has formed a Political Action Committee, the Concerned Citizens of the Pac-12, against the Duck and his platform.

Starting with the release of "Part 1" on Monday, new YouTube videos will be released throughout the next two weeks that highlight a different theme brought to the public's attention by the Concerned Citizens of the Pac-12. Along with the series of videos, a variety of radio, print, outdoor and social media, along with a dedicated website, will be unveiled as the primary drive to sell out the game against Oregon.

The Concerned Citizens of the Pac-12, with Sparky at the forefront, will not stop until 71,706 supporters come together at Sun Devil Stadium on Oct. 18 to put an end to UO's campaign. Fans encouraged to join the committee via Twitter using the hash tag #BlkOutDuck or by visiting the PAC's website at concernedcitizensofthepac12.com.

Tickets to finally take a stance against the Duck are still available and effective at 5 p.m., Wednesday, will start at $50 in the upper level and $70 in the lower level. Buy online or call the Arizona State Ticket Office: 480-727-0000.

Fans also can choose the Blackout Pack, which includes a ticket to the game, 20 percent discount off the official Blackout T-shirt, a black pom-pon and $10 in Sparky's Dollars to use on concessions inside Sun Devil Stadium. The Blackout Pack is not available online.

There have only been six previous times in Sun Devil history when a team ranked second or higher has visited Sun Devil Stadium. This means we need you there, draped in black and ready to cheer.

Get your official Blackout T-shirt here or at the Campus Store and at the Stadium Shop at the Carson Student-Athlete Center. Sparky's Stadium Shop is open from 9 a.m.-5 p.m. during the week, and will be open until after the Sun Devil game Thursday night. Maroon and gold shirts are also available, as well team jerseys and fall gear.

Don't miss the new Game Day traditions around Sun Devil Stadium that includes the Devil Walk, with the added flair of the Concerned Citizens' passion, as well as the Fry's Ultimate Tailgate and a Sun Devil Marching Band concert. Click here for more information on these events.
