Staff Artfest to present Latin-dancing demonstration
The Devils’ Workshop will present a free Latin-dancing demonstration by Tujuan (Tee-Jay) Netters from 12:10 to 12:50 p.m., Jan. 31, at Union Stage, on the lower level of the Memorial Union.
Netters, a student prospect research assistant at the ASU Foundation, is a competitive veteran in the ballroom dance world. He had been dancing for four years on hip-hop and step teams before he discovered ballroom dancing at a Latin Dance Festival in San Diego in 2007.
Since then, he has committed himself to learning all elements of ballroom dance, such as the Cha Cha, Rumba, Samba, Jive and Paso Doble.
Netters has competed in three major ballroom competitions around the country, including the Cardinal Classic, Phoenix Dancesport Challenge, and the Galaxy Dance Festival.
He teaches cardio exercise, ballroom dance and occasional private lessons. He hopefully aspires to become a certified ballroom instructor and share his passion for dance with others.
