Softball hits the road for three-game series versus Oregon

PREVIOUSLY FOR THE DEVILS
ASU opened up conference play with a complete sweep of the rival Arizona Wildcats, including a thrilling six-run single-inning comeback on Sunday marked by Haley Steele's first career grand slam. It was the 11th time in program history that the Devils swept the Wildcats.


SCOUTING THE DUCKS
The No. 17 Ducks will play three games on Wednesday and Thursday against Boise State before taking on ASU. Oregon dropped two matches in their first weekend of Pac-12 play against in-state rival Oregon State. The Ducks are sixth in the conference in batting average with a cumulative .316, and hold an overall .451 slugging percentage. Oregon is led by junior outfielder Samantha Pappas, who has a .391 average on the season thus far, and junior right-handed pitcher Jessica Moore, who currently holds a 1.69 ERA on a 13-5 record. The Devils are 51-35 all-time against the Ducks.

DEVILS IN THE RANKINGS
Arizona State as a team continues to lead the Pac-12 in on base percentage (.456), runs batted in (243), and home runs (52). Nationally, ASU is third in home runs per game (1.53), fourth in runs scored per game (7.68), fifth in fielding percentage (.979), and seventh in batting average (.347). In individual rankings, shortstop Katelyn Boyd is ninth in the nation for batting average with a clip of .466, and Bailey Wigness is 27th at .441. Hillary Bach's 0.77 ERA is ninth in the country and her 14 wins are tied for 14th.
