Small fire in MU closes lower level

<p>A small fire broke out in the lower level of the Memorial Union on Tuesday, April 5, but was contained to a small area because of the sprinkler system. The fire appears to have originated in a piece of electrical equipment at Jamba Juice.</p><separator></separator><p>The building was closed at the time and there were no injuries reported. The main and upper levels of the building were opened at about 7:45 a.m. The lower level is expected to be closed throughout the morning.</p><separator></separator><p>Because the building is equipped with sprinklers, a major part of the building renovation in 2007, the damage was limited to a small area.</p>
