Seasonal flu vaccines available


Arizona State University students, faculty and staff can get their seasonal flu vaccines starting on Tuesday.

Employee Wellness in collaboration with Campus Health Services is sponsoring the vaccine clinic from  7 a.m. to 4 p.m. Oct. 5-7 in the Memorial Union La Paz room 242.

At the Downtown Phoenix campus, students, faculty and staff may receive flu shots from 7:30 a.m. to 2 p.m., Oct. 19, at University Center, room 822A. Flu shots for students, faculty and staff at the Polytechnic campus are available from 7:30 a.m. to 2 p.m., Oct. 26, at the Union Cooley Ballroom A. At the West campus, students, faculty and staff can receive flu shots from 7:30 a.m. to 2 p.m., Oct. 14, at the University Center Building rooms 265 and 266.

Appointments are not needed at any of the flu vaccine clinics.

To receive the shot at no charge, employees must show both a valid state-of-Arizona issued employee insurance card and a valid ASU Sun Card. All benefits-eligible ASU employees are welcome. Non-benefits-eligible employees may receive a flu shot for $16, payable by cash or check only.

Shots will be given on a first-come, first-served basis for as long as the supply lasts.

Students can choose to have the $16 cost of the flu shot billed to their ASU student account or to their insurance company (please bring insurance card). Students must bring a valid ASU ID card. Students who have insurance through Arizona Health Care Cost Containment System (AHCCCS) must receive their flu vaccine from their health-care provider.

Health Services - Tempe will also offer flu shots in a tent outside the Memorial Union Oct. 20, 21 and 28 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Flu vaccines are also available at Health Service locations during normal business hours.
