Road Rally, classic cars on display at SkySong Jan. 16
SkySong, the ASU Scottsdale Innovation Center, will feature 75 cars that were definitely innovative in their time, but now serve as reminders of automotive days gone by, at the first Scottsdale Road Rally and Cruise-In, from noon to 3 p.m., Jan. 16.
The Road Rally is the kick-off event for the 39th Annual Barrett-Jackson Scottsdale Collector Car Auction taking place Jan. 18-24 at WestWorld in Scottsdale.
"As we enter a brand new decade of bringing car enthusiasts together, we couldn't think of a more appropriate way to kick off the week than with a Road Rally in the city where it all began," said Barrett-Jackson CEO and Chairman Craig Jackson.
From noon to 3 p.m., the vintage cars taking part in the Road Rally will be on display among the high-tech buildings of ASU SkySong, 1475 N. Scottsdale Road, so that spectators can get a sneak peak at the vehicles before they cruise a seven-mile course through the streets of Scottsdale.
"We're so pleased to be able to host this fun event," said Julia Rosen, ASU's associate vice president for Innovation and Entrepreneurship. "SkySong is a part of the Scottsdale community and serving as a venue for activities like the Road Rally and our Thursday Farmer's Markets is an important role we will continue to play."
