'Practically Perfect' tea party at the Ritz


<p>Ever wish you could have tea with Mary Poppins like Jane and Michael Banks? Guests of the Ritz-Carlton Phoenix afternoon tea will have this exclusive chance. Of course, this tea party will not be located on the ceiling, but the guests get to meet the stars of Disney’s stage production of "Mary Poppins" from noon to 2 p.m., Feb. 19.</p><separator></separator><p>Caroline Sheen, Laird Mackintosh and Blythe Wilson, also known as Mary Poppins, George Banks and Winifred Banks, respectively, will enjoy afternoon tea with all the Poppins fixings, including chocolate kites, umbrella teacakes and fruit tarts. Guests also will receive a gift bag; a chance to win a grand prize, including four tickets to the show; and an exclusive opportunity to meet the cast.</p><separator></separator><p>Combining the best of the original stories by P. L. Travers and the beloved Walt Disney film, the Tony Award-winning musical is becoming a Broadway classic. Produced by Disney and Cameron Mackintosh, the show includes such beloved songs as "Chim Chim Cher-ee," "A Spoonful of Sugar," "Let’s Go Fly a Kite" and, of course, "Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious."</p><separator></separator><p>The "Practically Perfect" tea party will take place from noon to 2 p.m., Feb. 19, at the Ritz-Carlton in Phoenix, located at 2401 E. Camelback Rd. Tickets are $17 for children and $35 for adults.</p><separator></separator><p>"Mary Poppins" runs at ASU Gammage through Feb. 28.
