As the football team prepares for its bowl game, the men’s basketball season is underway. Kyle Cain dunks during ASU's first half rally, during which they erased an 11-point deficit, as the Devils hosted the University of Nevada on Dec. 7. Carrick Felix (0), who had 15 points in the game, blocks the Nevada shot by a fingertip in the 69-61 loss. With just under a minute remaining, Keala King drains a three to keep ASU's hopes alive. Sun Devil basketball alumnus Ty Abbott was courtside to cheer on his old team, Dec. 10, as ASU took on the Bisons of North Dakota State. Chanse Creekmur came in off the bench in the first half and hit two big three pointers. Keala King passes the ball out to the wing after penetrating into the paint. The Sun Devils led for most of the second half before Bison guard Mike Felt hit a highly-contested desperation three to tie the game at 57 with 1.8 seconds left. Needing to go the length of the court to score with 1.8 seconds remaining, Trent Lockett brings in a three quarter court pass from Chanse Creekmur and then kicks it out to Carrick Felix, who nailed the three pointer at the buzzer for the Sun Devil victory! Carrick Felix reacts to his game winning buzzer beater. Carrick Felix (left) and Keala King enjoy the post-victory celebration. ASU takes a week off for finals and will be back in action at 4 p.m., Dec. 17, against Northern Arizona.
