After Saturday's game, the team needed just one more win on Sunday to punch a ticket to the Women's College World Series. Dallas Escobedo's pitching led ASU to their second victory over Kentucky for the weekend. Escobedo improved to 30-4 with the 5-2 victory; she is now 5-0 (1.24 ERA) in the postseason this year. Sunday's deciding game saw the score tie twice before Arizona State was able to take command in the top of the seventh on a two-run homer by Haley Steele. The Kentucky Wildcats didn't want to go down without a fight, however, tying it up in the bottom of the third. It took until the top of the seventh for Arizona State to pull ahead, doing so on a two-run shot by Haley Steele to left. The team celebrates after their second win. Arizona State softball will be making its 11th program trip to the Women's College World Series in Oklahoma City after beating Kentucky 5-2 on Sunday in the Tempe Super Regional. The Sun Devils open play at 4 p.m. PT, May 30 against Texas on ESPN2.
