Linda Smith speaks at ASU’s Sandra Day O’Conner College of Law on “Eradicating Child Sex Slavery.” In the fall of 1998, while still a member of the U.S. Congress, Smith became aware of the international problem of sex trafficking and went on to found Shared Hope International, a non-profit organization with the mission of rescuing and restoring victims of sex trafficking. The conference addressed the impact of personalized medicine on the delivery of health care now and in the future. Nobel Laureate Lee Hartwell, president and director of the Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center, delivers the keynote address at the personalized medicine conference. Next fall Hartwell will establish and co-direct the Center for Sustainable Health at ASU’s Biodesign Institute, as ASU’s second Virginia G. Piper Chair of Personalized Medicine.
