Parking reminder for student move-in

From Aug. 13-16, thousands of new ASU students will move into residence halls across all four of our campuses, causing a heavy volume of traffic on the campus roads and in parking lots. Many of these students and their families have never been on campus before and are unfamiliar with the parking regulations.

Be aware that most parking areas will see a heavy influx of pedestrian and vehicular traffic as residence hall students unload their belongings. As a warm welcoming gesture to the newest ASU community members, and to ensure a safe environment, drivers should exhibit extra patience when traveling on campus streets and within ASU parking lots and structures.

ASU parking permit holders who arrive at their assigned parking location to find that there is no available parking due to students unloading are requested to proceed to the nearest ASU permit lot or structure. Parking lots and structures with availability during move-in week include:

Downtown Phoenix Campus: 4th Avenue Lot

Polytechnic Campus: Any (green-striped) Perimeter Lot located outside of the Williams Campus Loop

Tempe Campus: The Packard Drive South and Stadium Structures and Lots 59 and 59N

West Campus: Lot 3

An ASU parking permit is still required to be displayed, even when parked outside a regularly assigned parking location.

Parking will not be permitted along red curbs. Parking is not allowed in ASU service vehicle stalls or disabled spaces without the proper permit or placard. Reserved spaces and loading zones will be enforced, and parking at meters and visitor lots will require payment. For questions, call Parking and Transit Services (PTS). Telephone numbers for all ASU PTS offices can be found online at parking.asu.edu under “Contact Us.”
