No. 1 softball scores second straight Pac-10 sweep

The win is ASU’s eighth consecutive Pac-10 win and second sweep which gave Escobedo her current 23-3 record on the year and ASU a 45-5 record overall and 12-3 conference record. The Beavers drop to 18-22 and 1-14 in the Pac-10.<br /><br />The Sun Devils started off the first the same way they had all weekend as they pushed one across with a <a href="http://thesundevils.cstv.com/sports/w-softbl/mtt/donnenwirth_krista00.h… Donnenwirth</a> RBI ground out before turning up the heat in the second bringing in three with RBI hits from <a href="http://thesundevils.cstv.com/sports/w-softbl/mtt/haro_talor00.html">Tal… Haro</a>, <a href="http://thesundevils.cstv.com/sports/w-softbl/mtt/boyd_katelyn00.html">K… Boyd</a> and <a href="http://thesundevils.cstv.com/sports/w-softbl/mtt/rogers_lesley00.html">… Rogers</a> to make it 4-0 after two complete.<br /><br /><a href="http://thesundevils.cstv.com/sports/w-softbl/mtt/escobedo_dallas00.html… Escobedo</a> came out to fire on all cylinders throwing six hitless innings to the Beavers while her offense chipped away at the score. <a href="http://thesundevils.cstv.com/sports/w-softbl/mtt/boyd_katelyn00.html">K… Boyd</a> in a heads-up play in the fourth snaked another run off a wild pitch before OSU snapped Escobedo’s no-hitter in the sixth with a solo shot by relief pitcher, Paige Hall wh crushed one to left center. <br /><br />After settling down Escobedo put it together to close it out while ASU added one last notch to the board as an error placed <a href="http://thesundevils.cstv.com/sports/w-softbl/mtt/lockwood_annie00.html"… Lockwood</a> on first before <a href="http://thesundevils.cstv.com/sports/w-softbl/mtt/parlich_sam00.html">Sam Parlich</a> made them pay with a home run to left center for her tenth of the season to make it 7-1.<br /><br />The Sun Devils hit the road again this weekend as they continue Pac-10 play in the Pacific Northwest where they’ll face-off against the Washington Huskies in Seattle next Friday-Sunday.</p>
