Nickel on human rights panel at Rutgers

James Nickel, Professor of Law at the Sandra Day O'Connor College of Law and Affiliated Professor of Philosophy, recently participated in a conference, "Human rights in Theory and Practice," at Rutgers University School of Law-Camden.

The conference was held in recognition of the 60th anniversary of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, adopted by the United Nations in 1948.

Nickel, who is a Visiting Professor of Law this year at Georgetown University Law Center, served on a panel on Philosophical Foundations of Human Rights. The others on the panel were James Griffin of Rutgers and Joseph Raz, Professor of Philosophy of Law and a Fellow of Balliol College at Oxford University, and simultaneously Professor of Law at Columbia University Law School.
