Newly renovated Health Services building highlighted in national architecture magazine

March 06, 2013

The renovation and expansion of the Health Services building on ASU's Tempe campus has not gone unnoticed for its unique architectural design, coming to the attention of national magazines, including Architectural Record, which highlighted the new building in its March 2013 online edition.

David Brown, writing for Architectural Record, was quick to praise the new "light-filled, inviting, and designed for LEED Platinum certification" building, going on to say that "its garden-like environment is a refuge for the campus's 60,000 students when they need medical treatment and guidance."

Allan L. Markus, ASU's Health Services director, is quoted in the article, saying that ultimately, “the facility has made an impression on our students about coming to the health center – not just when they are feeling ill but also to maintain their health.”
