New Media Academy teaches skills for today’s world

The Cronkite New Media Academy at Arizona State University will teach you the new media skills you need to communicate effectively in today’s world.

In a series of 10 Saturday sessions, you’ll learn how to design and develop a Web site, present and edit photos for the Web, use social networking tools, create Web-based graphics and edit video and sound for the Web. You’ll leave with a multimedia-rich Web site and the tools to keep going.

The fall 2009 academy begins Sept. 12 and ends Nov. 14. All sessions are taught by Cronkite School professionals, with an emphasis on hands-on training in small digital media labs at the school’s state-of-the-art building in downtown Phoenix.

Class size is limited to 20. Cost is $2,000 for 10 full days of training; ASU employees, alumni and students receive a 10 percent discount. Space may be available for those want to attend part, but not all, of the academy.
