New Degree Offered at ASU's Polytechnic campus


<p> With the need for writers and editors increasing over the next five years, according to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, Arizona State University's Polytechnic campus now offers a Bachelor of Science degree in Multimedia Writing and Technical Communication.</p><separator></separator><p> &quot;The program approaches writing and design as one in order to communicate with audiences in print, video or on the Web,&quot; says Professor Barry Maid.</p><separator></separator><p> In addition to preparing students as writers and editors, students will gain experience for positions as Internet and intranet page designers, publications managers and multimedia designers.</p><separator></separator><p> The curriculum will bring together writing, multimedia (graphics, sound, design and media) and contemporary communication technology. An undergraduate and post-baccalaureate certificate programs are also available.</p><separator></separator><p> The Arizona Board of Regents approved the implementation of the degree program at its meeting in Flagstaff in June.</p>
