New Degree Offered at ASU's Polytechnic campus

With the need for writers and editors increasing over the next five years, according to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, Arizona State University's Polytechnic campus now offers a Bachelor of Science degree in Multimedia Writing and Technical Communication.

"The program approaches writing and design as one in order to communicate with audiences in print, video or on the Web," says Professor Barry Maid.

In addition to preparing students as writers and editors, students will gain experience for positions as Internet and intranet page designers, publications managers and multimedia designers.

The curriculum will bring together writing, multimedia (graphics, sound, design and media) and contemporary communication technology. An undergraduate and post-baccalaureate certificate programs are also available.

The Arizona Board of Regents approved the implementation of the degree program at its meeting in Flagstaff in June.
