Molinaro named Pac-12 Women's Golfer of the Month


Arizona State senior Giulia Molinaro was named Pac-12 Women's Golfer of the Month for September, commissioner Larry Scott announced.

Molinaro, from Villorba, Italy, opened up the 2011 fall season with her second-career tournament victory at the Dale McNamara Invitational. Shooting a career-low 67 in the first round, Molinaro took individual medalist honors with a three-round score of 6-under par. At the Mason Rudolph Fall Preview, where all 18 teams in the field were ranked in the NGCA Coaches' Poll top-25, Molinaro tied for 14th individually. After two events, Molinaro has recorded a scoring average of 71.50, seventhbest in the country, and has notched two top-15 finishes. 

Arizona State is seventh in the country in the Golfweek/Sagarin rankings after two events. The Sun Devils return to the course for the Stanford Invitational October 14-16 before traveling to Knoxville, Tenn. for the Pac-12/SEC Challenge Oct. 21-23.
