Meet ASU Hall of Famers before Oregon game


Sun Devil fans have the opportunity to meet two Sun Devil football legends this Saturday before ASU hosts the Oregon Ducks at Sun Devil Stadium. Arizona State Hall of Famers Darren Woodson and Eric Allen will be appearing at the Sports Illustrated College Football Experience Presented by Nissan, which will be taking place on Saturday afternoon across the street from Sun Devil Stadium.

The Sports Illustrated College Football Experience Presented by Nissan will take place from 2 p.m. until kickoff just north of the Mona Plummer Aquatic Center, adjacent to the Stadium parking structure at 6th street and Veteran’s Way. Allen will be appearing from 4 to 5:30 p.m., participating in both an “SI Chalk Talk” and an autograph session, while Woodson will appear from 5 to 6:30 p.m., participating in both the “SI Chalk Talk” and autograph session as well. The Chalk Talk will run from 5 to 5:30 p.m.

Allen played for Arizona State from 1983 to 1987. He was a part of three bowl teams while at ASU, including the 1986 team that defeated Michigan 22-15 in the Rose Bowl on Jan. 1, 1987. Allen finished his career with 15 interceptions, including eight as a senior in 1987. He was an All-Pac-10 selection and received honorable mention AP All-America honors for his senior season, and he was a six-time Pro Bowl selection during a 14-year NFL career with the Philadelphia Eagles, New Orleans Saints and Oakland Raiders. He currently is an NFL Analyst for ESPN. Allen was inducted into the ASU Hall of Fame in 2008.

Woodson was a Sun Devil from 1989 to 1991 and was a three-time All Pac-10 Honorable Mention and captain of the 1991 team during his senior season. A second round draft choice of the Dallas Cowboys in the 1992 NFL Draft, Woodson went on to become one of the best defensive players in NFL history. A five-time pro bowler, Woodson retired from the Cowboys in 2005 as the all-time leading tackler in franchise history. He finished his NFL career with 23 interceptions, and was a member of three Super Bowl championship teams. He is currently an NFL Analyst for ESPN. Woodson was inducted into the ASU Hall of Fame in 2005.
