Marchant speaks to judicial educators

<p><a href="http://apps.law.asu.edu/Apps/Faculty/Faculty.aspx?individual_id=6">Gary Marchant</a>, Executive Director of the Sandra Day O'Connor College of Law’s Center for Law, Science &amp; Innovation, addressed the National Association of State Judicial Educators’ annual conference, Pioneering Trends in Judicial Branch Education, on Aug. 9, in San Antonio.</p><separator></separator><p>Marchant, the ASU Lincoln Professor of Emerging Technologies, Law and Ethics, gave the talk, “Emerging Technologies and the Future of Law,” describing the technological revolutions that will fundamentally change society and the practice of law over the next decade.</p><separator></separator><p>Marchant’s research interests include the use of genetic information in environmental regulation, risk and the precautionary principle, legal aspects of personalized medicine, and regulation of emerging technologies such as nanotechnology, neuroscience and biotechnology. He teaches courses in Environmental Law, Law, Science &amp; Technology, Genetics and the Law, Biotechnology: Science, Law and Policy, and Nanotechnology Law &amp; Policy. He also is a professor in ASU's School of Life Sciences.</p>
