Marchant to speak at London conference


<p>Professor <a href="http://www.law.asu.edu/Apps/Faculty/Faculty.aspx?individual_id=6">Gary Marchant</a> of the Sandra Day O'Connor College of Law will participate in a panel discussion on Friday, Sept. 11, at an international conference, &quot;Transatlantic Regulatory Cooperation: Securing the Promise of Nanotechnologies,&quot; in London.</p><separator></separator><p>Marchant, the Executive Director of the College's Center for the Study of Law, Science, &amp; Technology, will give a talk about &quot;Pacing Regulatory Oversight with Rapidly Emerging Nanotechnologies,&quot; for a panel on &quot;Emerging Nanotechnologies and Regulatory Challenges.&quot;</p><separator></separator><p>The conference is sponsored by the Energy, Environment and Development Programme of Chatham House and the London School of Economics.</p><separator></separator><p>Marchant's research interests include the use of genetic information in environmental regulation, risk and the precautionary principle, legal aspects of personalized medicine, and regulation of emerging technologies such as nanotechnology, neuroscience and biotechnology. He teaches courses in Environmental Law, Law, Science &amp; Technology, Genetics and the Law, Biotechnology: Science, Law and Policy, and Nanotechnology Law &amp; Policy.
